HydroBIND provides research and development services in biotechnology for value-added ion recovery and treatment of industrial wastewater. We design and test proteins that capture a single target ion from salty, complex water and leave the rest behind, so a stream you pay to treat or dispose of can yield recovered minerals and cleaner water. We work with oil and gas producers and saltwater-disposal operators, gas-processing and gas-to-liquids plants, mining operations, fertilizer and chemical producers, and industrial water treatment.
Waste-Stream Assessment
We review your water chemistry to identify which dissolved ions are worth recovering and which ones drive your treatment cost.
Custom Ion-Binder Design
We computationally design proteins for your target ions, such as potassium, ammonium, boron, rubidium and cesium, and screen them against the full background of your water.
Laboratory Validation
